Always back to the subculture he likes, Heru, the artist, talks about the early success of Reggae. Trojan is from "Trojan Records" on of the famous producer during that era. And the character is the MonkiBoy that is inspired by the Reggae song "Monkey Man". And if you wander deeper, there is also the number "69" behind the character, which stands for the year of Reggae.
 
Heru Setiawan painted this artwork almost like this is his self-portrait rendition.The paint brush that this monkey character holds represents how it is not only artists that holds it, but also the builders and home workers.

Heru Setiawan, the artist behind MonkiBoy84, is a vector artist. He never went to any university to learn deeper about art, though ever since he could remember, he always found pencils and papers to draw on. He is highly inspired by music genre Ska and Reggae -- well, the record's cover to be exact. 
 
The stage name MonkiBoy84 is an ode to one of his favorite song "Monkey Man". And the "84"? Well, it is his birth date of course. He could not define himself as an artist, nor a street artist. For him, he is just a person working day in and out with paint.
