About the Artwork
---
We need space to think about our recent events, to self-assess, and then to readjust ourselves. After all of those come a new energy, like a sun that rises in the morning. Orange that is like an energy, rises from the color of blue that is quiet and deep -- both are interconnecting to make a harmony in the artwork.
This piece is part of Plastic Series, which Catur, the artist, chooses plastic as his medium because plastic is very close to our daily lives. The process of burning the plastic is a medium to transfer his thoughts and worries into an artwork. Plastic is often just used once before it ends on another trash pile. To convert this plastic onto an art material is adding value and purpose to plastic that is otherwise becomes trash.
