No, it is not about the damaged ecosystem nor a call to take action saving the sea and the animals inside it. It is in fact about being way too comfortable in our surroundings. When we are feeling too comfortable, it is often becomes dangerous because being comfortable means being stagnant. And being stagnant is never a good thing in this fast moving world we live in.

Born in Wonosobo, 2000, Laeli Zakiya is currently pursuing her art degree in one of universities in Yogyakarta. She started painting on her second year at the university. She started her journey in art in a whim, with whale as her main subject. She was inspired by her constant use of the whale emoticon on her chatting apps, which she might uses a little too often. From there, one of her friends suggested her to start painting the whale realistically, using pastel colors. She never thought this style of painting becomes her style now.
