About the Artwork

---

For 4 months, every Sunday morning, Emily spend some hours painting in her studio. She just lets the brush takes the wheel. Whether it is inspired by the sky the day before, or the load of works she went through during the weekdays -- she lets the canvas be her meditative medium to guide her back to the ground.

This artwork is one of the result of those Sunday morning contemplations.

About the Artist

---

Emily is an abstract painter currently living and working in South Jakarta, Indonesia.

Having brought up in a musical family, Emily learned from a young age to express herself through various forms of art such as music, dance, and musical theatre, subsequently started working as a perfoming artist. She also indulged in the art of design and jewelry making which quickly became her full-time career.

Painting, on the other hand, has always been a sweet escape from her day-to-day. She treats art making as a meditative practice, exploring different techniques before she decided to focus on contemporary abstract.

Today, Emily’s work is inspired by her respect of the small moments of life. Her process starts from the moment she uses her senses to capture a visual memory, textures, sound and scent— which she then translates through colors and movements onto her media as a painter.

Each of her piece is infused with an intention, programmed to bring a certain energy into a space.
